Today, Monday the 30th day of August 2010, the world gets a new baby. The baby will journey with you through the long and bumpy road in politics.
This baby is named KENYAN POLITICS. A blog that is to profile Kenyan politics after the second republic was born on Friday the 27th of August 2010 when the new constitution accepted by a majority of Kenyans was promulgated.
The ceremony was held in Nairobi at the country’s historic Uhuru park grounds.
When Kenya gained independence, the British’s union jack was lowered at midnight and the Kenyan flag hoisted. Why lower it at midnight? It could have been done during the day. Furthermore, the old constitution had been signed by the Queen but the new constitution was made in Kenya by Kenyans.
The constitution brings with it hope of improved life in Kenya for all as it is centered on devolution. Many are optimistic that things will change for the better but KENYAN POLITICS will be there to tell you what the Governors, the MPS and the senators have done and not done for you.
We will go out to bring in-depth analysis of people and power, the opinion makers and what is your view – you the common man who stands to lose or gain from the politics of the day.
Stay in touch for the in-depth political analysis and what will be happening and we hope this blog will one day come out to be published as a daily newspaper.
We ask the almighty for strength, wisdom and knowledge and the ability to make right choices in awkward situations.
God help us.
It is easier said than done – we believe we will do it.
I rest my case.
Chris Wekesa.
